Images you scan: When you photograph or upload a wood sample, the image is sent to our secure backend server for AI analysis. We do not permanently store your images — they are processed in real time and discarded immediately after identification.
Scan history: Your past scan results (wood names, properties, timestamps) are stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it.
Log data: In the case of an error, we may collect data such as your device IP address, device name, operating system version, and timestamps. This is used solely to fix bugs and improve stability.
Purchase information: If you subscribe to Premium, your purchase is handled by Google Play. We receive only your subscription status through RevenueCat and never see your payment details.

Our app requests access to your camera and photo library solely to allow you to scan wood surfaces. We do not access your camera or photos without your explicit action (tapping the Camera or Gallery button).

Free-tier users see advertisements served by Google AdMob. These ads may be personalised based on your device's advertising ID. You can opt out of personalised ads in your device settings:
Premium subscribers see no advertisements whatsoever.
This app does not use cookies directly. However, third-party services such as AdMob and Google Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers to collect information and improve their services.
Your scan history is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to our servers. We use industry-standard HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between the app and our servers.

Wood Identification is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately using the form below.
