Images you scan: When you photograph or upload a wood sample, the image is sent to our secure backend server for AI analysis. We do not permanently store your images — they are processed in real time and discarded immediately after identification.
Scan history: Your past scan results (wood names, properties, timestamps) are stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it.
App usage and interaction data: We collect information about how you use the app — such as which screens you view, when you start or complete a scan, when you view or dismiss the subscription screen, and general app engagement — through Google Firebase Analytics. This helps us understand how the app is used and identify ways to improve it. This data is collected regardless of whether you make a purchase.
Log data: In the case of an error, we may collect data such as your device IP address, device name, operating system version, and timestamps. This is used solely to fix bugs and improve stability.
Purchase information: If you subscribe to Premium (weekly, annual, or lifetime), your purchase is handled by Google Play. We receive your subscription/purchase status and transaction value through RevenueCat, and this information is also recorded through Firebase Analytics for our own reporting. We never see your payment details (card number, billing address, etc.).

Our app requests access to your camera and photo library solely to allow you to scan wood surfaces. We do not access your camera or photos without your explicit action (tapping the Camera or Gallery button).
Images are only used for wood identification and are not shared, sold, or used for any other purpose.
Free-tier users see advertisements served by Google AdMob. These ads may be personalised based on your device's advertising ID. You can opt out of personalised ads in your device settings:
Premium subscribers see no advertisements whatsoever.
This app does not use cookies directly. However, third-party services such as AdMob and Google Firebase Analytics may use cookies, advertising identifiers, or similar identifiers to collect information and improve their services.
Your scan history is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to our servers. We use industry-standard HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between the app and our servers.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
Wood Identification is intended for use by individuals aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the app is not directed at or marketed to children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately using the form below.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
