Photos & Camera

Our app requires access to your camera and photo library to identify fish species. Photos are sent to our AI service for analysis and are not stored on our servers permanently. Images are processed in real-time and deleted immediately after identification.

We collect anonymous usage data to improve our service, including:

• App features used
• Crash reports and performance data

Device Information

We may collect basic device information such as device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers for analytics and advertising purposes.

Our free tier displays advertisements powered by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising ID to show personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings.

Premium subscribers do not see any advertisements.

4. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

Fish Identifier offers premium subscriptions processed through Google Play. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. We do not store your payment information — all payments are handled securely by Google Play.

• Annual Premium: $39.99/year

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Google Play account settings.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your scan history is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. We do not upload your scan history to our servers. You can delete all local data at any time from the Profile screen.

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

6. Third-Party Services

Our app uses the following third-party services:

• OpenAI — AI-powered fish identification
• Google AdMob — Advertisement delivery
• RevenueCat — Subscription management
• Google Play — Payment processing
• Expo — App development platform

Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing their data practices.

7. Children's Privacy

Our app is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
